Mobil 1 High Mileage Oils

Anyone running this oil? I believe it is fairly new (as in released in the last 6 months). My 99 LC has 120k miles and doesn't seem to burn oil, which is the reason for choosing the lower 5w oil vis, but a few leaks are rearing their ugly head so I thought I would give it a shot with the -200004 yota filter. Probably going to 10k OCI and do a UOA as well as see if the PS valve cover leak stops for now.

I know quite a few people on here are using the 0w30 variety with a 10k OCI and have been pleased with the results. I will be switching to the same thing with the 20004 filter on my next change, haven't decided if I'll go with 0w or 5w yet though.

Solid choice. I look forward to seeing the UOA results.

I have been using it for at least 40k miles - and have sent samples to Blackstone several times, to include a 15k sample. So far so good, except on the 15k sample the oil had a little too much copper in it, so am going to stick with 10k intervals.

are you using just one filter on the 10k change interval

I too have been using it with great success. We have four vehicles running it, my 100 series and troopy, my father's 2010 Tundra and his 2008 FJ Cruiser.

The 100 series is a 2000 with no burning and no leaks. I'm changing the oil at 10k mile intervals and using Toyota filters. According to the Black Stone reports I have been getting back all is well.

I just checked my last report from Black Stone and they noted that the TBN was 4.3 which still had lots of additive left; less than 1.0 is too low. Again, that was on a 10,000 mile interval with 127023 on the hundy at the time of the sample request. I could extend the service interval, but in all honesty I'm good with the idea of a 10k change. You have to pay extra and request the TBN test, which I do every other sample for us.

Maybe I'll get brave and try a 12,500 interval as Black Stone just suggested to my father for his Tundra after reviewing his oil sample.

I'm sure you guys have visited this site; It's like 'Mud for oil. Welcome

Yes, I am. I cut one open after replacing it and was pretty impressed with the results.

Is everyone using the M1 "High Mileage" 5w-30 oil? Sorry to question, but I don't seem to find any info on this board. I also have been on BITOG's site and this oil has little coverage there... probably due to the fact it's somewhat new.

Sorry about that. I assumed you were speaking of "Extended Performance" by stating high mileage. I'm using the Extended performance and those are the results I posted.

I would expect the same great performance out of the "High Mileage" as everyone has been getting out of the "Extended Performance" and regular Mobil1.

But your UOA will tell the real story.
