Is anyone familiar with a military trailer made by Steven's MFG? I have never heard of this make of trailer or where it ranks on the quality scale - anyone familiar with them? Pics below.

That's just a good old M416. Stevens Manufacturing made most of them, including my '67.

Thanks for feedback Henry (John T in AZ here :)
If this thing checks out in good condition, what's a fair price..I am looking for one to buy and this one is local.

Hard to say these days, but I wouldn't pay much more than $750.

That's an M416. They were made by a variety of manufacturers. Stevens was one of them Johnson Furnace Ccompany was another. There were 2-4 other builders, but I forget who. QUality was identical from all the builders, as they were made to identical blueprints and requirements from the military. Many mil rigs are like that. M35s (Duece and a halfs) were made by a half dozen or so different companies and they are identical from all of them.

Mark...

great feedback - you can tell I was trailer ignorant - this is great info, appreciated!

decent M416 trailers have been going for 300.00 up to and over 1k depending on if the seller knows what they are worth, condition of the trailer, and location of trailer. I found a pristine M416 trailer last year that looked like it had never been used and the seller wanted 1350.00 for it. I was all set to buy it but I found a 1946 T3-C Bantam civilian trailer 15 minutes from my house instead.
more information on M416 and other 1/4 ton trailers here:

IIRC, Stevens Manufacturing won the main contract and built that majority of these, but Mark is right, there's a half dozen other manufacturers.

I wouldn't pay more than $800 for any of these trailers unless you're planning on leaving them as is. If you plan on doing a bunch of modifications to it, you're better starting from scratch.
