I saw one up close, kinda meh. I'd use one for hunting, but I don't know if I'd drive one in combat:meh: The SF guys were using off the shelf Polaris ATVs in Iraq with no problems.

Back in my enlisted days, my unit had about 10 of the old Chenowth dune buggies. Those were a blast and didn't look like a golf cart:flipoff2:

Seen a couple here on Bragg. But for off the shelf and holding up to alot of stuff Polaris has high marks. They are not indestuctable but they will take a serious beating and keep going. Trying to get a 6 wheel one here soon from one of my old buddies still in.

You know as soon as we are done in Afghanistan the stuff that is going to come back to people yards is going to be amazing. The stuff that "Falls" off the property books that is sitting in storage yards and firebases thruout that country is amazing. I know of a few of those 4 wheelers are going to be out on the trails in a few years. I'm sure there is some already. The stuff that was bougth back in the cowboy days of the war was never really accounted for.

All i can say is i know nothing.

But i know exactly what you are talking about. It was amazing what i could find in country thru the system.
