Up for sale is my 2005 Lexus GX470. 226k miles. 4.7L V8, full time 4x4 with low range and locking center differential. Rust free. Adjustable air ride suspension in the rear, and adjustable ride shocks all around. Both work fine. Moonroof, power everything,
Memory seat and heated front seats. Leather seats, rear seat entertainment (DVD player), navigation, Mark Levinson sound system. Mechanically sound. CEL is on due to needing catalytic converters, though driveability is not affected. Newer tires, and 2022 4runner wheels installed. Clean CarFax, though rear bumper has been repainted. Also, the engine is not original. It is out of a 2006 4runner. Asking $8800 obo. Serious inquiries only please.

Why was the engine replaced?

You know, I tried to find that out myself. There is no history of it on CarFax. The donor 4runner was totalled or wrecked according to Carfax in 2016 IIRC, so it had to be after that that the engine was replaced. But there isn't anything in history that would lead me to believe something catastrophic happened to the GX that would warrant replacement of the engine. Sum it all up to say, I have no idea. It was done well though. The only thing that led me to dig deeper (other than it having a different VIN plate on the head), was the fact that it had telltale junkyard yellow writing on the intake manifold. It runs great and there is nothing out of place that I have been able to find. Thanks for the question. Any other questions please don't hesitate to ask!
