I'm trying to find something to place between my metal parts to prevent wear and rust (specifically, the doors and door hinges... hood and hood hinges). Sources would be nice as well.

Thanks!

in my opinion i would just haveboth metal pieces powdercoated and bolt them tight together.

i have heard several opinions about how if you put a rubber piece in between panels that they would vibrate apart becoming very dangerous on the road or trail.

just my opinion, because i thought the same thing. i wanteded to put gasets between everything to prevent from them rubbing off on each other.

good luck

okie - I did notice that there were no gaskets between them, but thought PO may have removed them for the last cheap paint job.

Thanks for the input.

oh , i was refering to putting rubber between two metal pieces like the front bib and fenders or like underneath seat brackets to the floor. i have heard important stuff like seat mounting , rollcage mounting to prevent rubbing just makes it slowly vibrate apart... i donno just something people have told me before. dunno if its valid or not

as afar as gaskets for front side door hinges, hood hinges rear door hinges. i think toyota sells them. they were stock i think. ive only seen pictures. i have a 1970 and when i dissasembled my doors there were no gaskets.

sorry not help here but go here and search. basically its a good reference for toyota dealer diagrams to find your part

i wouldn't buy them here though, with my tlca discount i have found some parts to be even 20 dollars cheaper than sor.
