Memphis hot-tank options??

I'm rebuilding my 80s engine and have more gunk built up all over the block, oil pans, etc than I ever imagined could exist.

Where around Memphis can I go to get everything hot-tanked? Got a friend who will deck everything, but need to clean it up before/after.

Anyone have good experience with local machine shops?

I'm still without a reccomendation and am about ready to dip the head & block.

Anyone have experience, or know of a quality machine shop in Shelby county?

Ask your guy that is decking it.. he would know way before anyone here would.

No one here that I know locally has had it done.

Thanks, that's normally a great idea, but a friend with his own CNC is decking the block.

He used to build race engines, but that was when he lived in Chicago. He hasn't built engines since moving and doesn't have a place to suggest.

Call Comp Cams sales number ask for engine dept and ask one of their guys 80% are drag racers.....pro or semi retired.

Hell they probably do it.

For future reference, Comp Cams doesn't do the work, but they immediately suggested BB&T Racing:
