Who said anything about Logic?! No, not necessarily logical at all. Somewhere there is a price in my head and if somebody gives me that amount or more I will sell it. IF I can't get that price, then I will keep the 40. 2 reasons: 1) I really actually DO want to keep it, but the wife says it has to go. I can convince her that it isn't worth selling because we can't get that much more than we have in it. So I get to keep the 40 and still will get a 200. We have already discussed this option, and it is a go. 2) If I DO sell it for that certain amount then thats great. No more FJ40 for me--I still get my 200, and probably another toy down the road (probably something fast next time). Either way, I come out with a 200. I hope that I can get that amount I am looking for, but if not, no big deal.

I say keep truck and get new wife....
Just thinking out loud.
Why sell what you love and enjoy to make her happy.....?

He wants to sell it.....he just want's top dollar. I get it.

Sound advice Clutchee. What's the worst that could happen...:flush:

Got the 40 all cleaned up and spiffy this morning. Put my strut back on with a new set of energy suspension bushings. I had previously been unable to as my strut mount was cracked. Jrob fixed it for me Monday night.

I drove it to MSAS this afternoon and that will be where it sits until it is sold (hopefully).

Small Update:

I talked to MS Auto Source today. They said that the car is getting some hits. But nothing too serious yet.

I was told by someone that knows my 40 that they had seen it on Lakeland, but did not realize that it was for sale. I called MSAS and asked if we could get a sign or stickers that would make it look for sale and not just a car parked in a lot. Hopefully that will help.

Funny, the guy also told me that most people that come to look at it are big Landcruiser buffs. He said "Apparently, there is this huge group of people out there that really love Landcruisers." Lol. Yup.

So...... All the club guys are joy riding in your ride and posing as "enthusiast"?

Most likely.

I'm gonna stop and give those guys a test on the operation of an FJ40.

Yeah, dog the hell out of it for me. Engage the hubs and 4x4 and see how fast you can her up to on I-55.

I have had 2 friends call me to tell me I should go look at it.

I found a 2013 Amazon Green locally. It has a small lift, BFG AT's, and an ARB Bumper with warn winch. It has approximately 20k on the odometer, and the owner is looking to get ~$65k.

He may be interested in a partial trade for my 40.

What say you guys?

$61k to $68k appears to the be national average for a 2013 with that kind of mileage, so the price is not too far off (I known better deals are out there though). didn't Todd get his 2013 for about that much, but IIRC it only had 8,000 miles? I like the mods, so that is a bonus. If I can get a decent trade for my 40, I may bite, though I think the price needs to come down just a tad, as a 2008 came up in Denver with 60k on the odometer for $40k the other day. I can't believe there is a $25k difference between the two.

Still nothing post from MSAS. They told me that they would be advertising it, which they are not, so I am a little aggravated. I'll give them some more time and see what happens though.

I am also looking at this one: http://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/detail/609616239/overview/

It has only had 1 owner, but it looks to have been ridden pretty hard (lots of scratches and dings on the exterior and in the interior. I am in contact with a salesman, and I am going to try to knock him down on the price.

Another concern I have is that being a 1 owner Colorado truck, it has been exposed to 5-6 winters. I know rust in the west is not nearly as bad as the northeast, but still, I'd hate to have issues down the road with corrosion.

If I can get them to move on the price, I think I may bite.

I am also still waiting to hear back from the guy with the local green 2013 200. It is considerably more money than the 08, but it is clean clean clean. I'll have to see if he's interested in my 40 if I decide to take that route.

$65,000 for a car.... Damn!
