A/C is soooo overrated.

I found a 2013 Amazon Green locally. It has a small lift, BFG AT's, and an ARB Bumper with warn winch. It has approximately 20k on the odometer, and the owner is looking to get ~$65k.

He may be interested in a partial trade for my 40.

What say you guys?

A little over 63k didn't Lori get his 2013 for about that much, but IIRC it only had 8,000. There fixed it:grinpimp:

Haha. Yeah, sorry Todd.

Small update:

I have been in contact with the 200 in Colorado. I am still working on getting him to drop the price, due to the amount of work that needs to be done to the exterior, and possibly the interior. The good new is, is that it just got new brake pads and rotors, and a new set of tires (something that I thought I would have to pay for myself).

Andrew

Before you get excited about the "new" stuff they put on the truck get a copy of the repair order. To make sure they used OE pads and rotors used car depts usually go the cheap route....so they use it as a sales tactic to hold gross profit. The tires will be s*** and you will remove them anyway....trust me I have been around dealerships.
Not to rain on the CO truck but it would be worth the 20k not to ever have to worry about rust. You can't 100% stop it unless you replace the metal and no way in hell would I ever want to think about that in an 08 truck...in a few years you will have to cut your losses and sell it and you will get atleast 5k less as a trade in or sell it in the south as a CO truck.

I am just trying to give you some advise I have bought too many cars in past and not worried about rust and it bite me in the ass everytime.

You will find what you are looking for if not find one like Lori's and pay 3k to wrap the truck any shade of Amazon green you like and then you have a built in paint protectant.

Also on the wholesale market the green truck will book out for less b/c to dealers it is not a widely marketable color but they will hold gross b/c you are looking for that color. So the wrap comes into play there as well.

Sorry if I have rambled on.

Buy smart it is a hell of a nut to pay for the depreciation that you will take...

Not rambling at all. I appreciate your advice. I will check with the dealer and see a spec sheet on the parts that were used. Good thinking; I didn't even think of that. I did see that Colorado doesn't actually use salt on their roads, so their cars are generally rust-free, as opposed to cars from the northeast (or so I have heard). Its relatively low mileage for the year should also help too. I am still on the fence about it. I am being very particular with the dealer on what I want pictures of. Once I see the underbody, I can make a better guess as to the condition. I'll post pics here when I get them.

Yes, most of Colorado stopped using salt many years ago. There may still be some hold-outs in rural areas but larger towns have all converted. I don't think the rust there is any worse than a car from the South for example. Get good pics if the underbody, beware fresh paint, maybe ask for an independent inspection or get one of the Rising Sun guys to check it out for you. Iggy would prolly do it if it is anywhere near her.

Great to know Bossman.

I don't actually know Iggy (I have read many of her posts though). Do you think she'd be comfortable doing a favor for someone she has never met? the truck is in Boulder, CO.

I would call Cristo Slee I know he is a distance away but he may know someone to trust locally to go look at or may give you the thumbs up on the undercarage pics...

Thanks Bomar. I may give him a ring.

Can someone post a link to Iggy's handle so I may IM her?

Iggy is a hoot and lives in Denver I believe. I can't speak for her ( no way I could cuss that much) but I suspect she would if its not too far out of her way.

What is her username on Mud?

Humm, not finding it. I will PM you her full name and maybe you can find her on FB or something?

Yeah, there a a lot of whites around; some of them very good deals. I have my poor little heart set on a green one though.

Update on the CO truck:
The underbody was ok, but the interior was completely trashed. There were scratches and stains everywhere. All the chrome on the outside was peeling off, and they had replaced the tires with snow tires. Sooooo...I passed.

The search continues...

Well, I spoke to MSAS yesterday, and I have good news and bad news. The good news is that the car is generating a ton of interest--Charlie told me that at least 2 to 3 people are coming by to look at it a day. A few have even taken for test drives (ok, fess up..which one of you took it for a spin?). The bad news is that no one is making any serious offers yet; not a single offer of any amount. Its frustrating. Charlie has told interested parties to make him an offer, but everybody appears to be a bunch of tire kickers.

Something else has been frustrating too--I was assured that MSAS would be advertising my vehicle online, but they have not bothered to put it on the internet yet. So, I have decided to place a feeler ad on MUD.

It would be really beneficial if any of you guys would bump my ad to insure that my car is a nice cruiser in person. I'd really appreciate it. I will be pasting a link when I get the post up.

There is not enough profit in it to actually push your truck via ads. Did you and Charlie sign an agreement? If not consignment stuff on dealers lots is the last thing the salesmen are going to take time to sell. They may get $100 which is not going to get them out of there chairs....You will do better on mud or eBay do an auction with just a buy it now price of X and let it sit...those auctions usually not have just the 7 day limit. So then it is cut and dry what you want for it. Sold a couple of modified trucks and cars that way and it was easy got what I wanted.

Bomar,

I hear ya. Yes, the agreement is, is that they will sell the truck and I will pay him $500.
