Hey all,
Does anyone here know anything about Toyota Auto Service at 2501 4th Avenue South in Birmingham? I've been using the Crestline Shell, but want to branch out.

Any other good mechanics?

Thanks,
Jay

I went to saab tire and automotive on messer airport hwy last week and was very happy with the service.(it's not a saab shop, the owner's name is charlie saab) My usual mechanic wouldn't install the ome springs, charlie didn't think it was a big deal at all. He said they could do anything and one of their techs used to be a service manager at a toyota dealership.

Thanks. I'll check him out. Have you had him do anything mechanical, as opposed to just put in your springs? I've got some sort of rattle near the engine that Hoover Toyota could not identify (shock) and that Crestline Shell has taken two months to figure out.

I appreciate the info.

no, fortunately no mechanical problems so far for me(knock on wood) - He was recommended by a friend that has had a lot of work done there, although that is on a suburban. I did ask if they could do major work on a land cruiser, like a head gasket, he said they could (that is why he told me about the toyota guy.) I made sure to ask b/c my last car, 87 4runner, blew a head gasket on the interstate and I couldn't find anyone to work on it - it had a rattle too, but I'm pretty sure that was the timing chain cover.

Well, I'll check it out after next pay period and will report to this thread.

Thanks again.
