Hey there, I was wondering if there might be a way to measure what height over stock springs a person might have. For example, can I take a string, go spring eye to oppesent spring eye, and measure down to the top/bottom of a spring pack, to get a rough idea of how much lift? Sound logical? Thanks, Al

picture, post, and ask ??

not really easy to measure, each spring is different, each vehicle is different.

had a set of 6" on a truck, ended up about a -2" when they were broke in.

JUST in GENERAL
if your talking fj40 with hardtop, then what tire size you are fitting without CUTTING.

33" can fit with 1.5" add a leafs
33s more comfortable with 2.5" lift
35s with 4"

average spring over with final settling in can fit 37s possibly 38s+ with no hardtop.

lookin at a off brand manufacture, or looking to swap a spring from another application ?

Well. . . . . first off, spring under, 33's, rear cut, lots of space from top of tires to bottom of fenders. Also, MAF s/rev. The front has some kind of aftermarket spring, has a series of numbers- top line 90-802512, bottom line RR 0882 pn. I believe the rear to be stock w/add-a-leaf, and longer shackles ( 5.5" c-c on the bolts ). I'm looking at a TPI Smokey Mtn kit, as there having a sale in Dec, enough to save shipping. I was just trying to get an idea of what height the front was over stock. I like the height it sits at now, just no flex OR ride ( I know, it aint no Caddy ). I rode in Mike Costello's 40 at Flat Nasty, night and day difference. The kit I'm looking at has 2.5"f /4"r springs. Al
