Well with all of the threads about issues caused by water I thought it funny, interesting and soul cleansing to admit the following adventure. I left my key fob in my pants and neglected to remove it before religating the pants to be washed, of course I discovered this when I went to start my 200 the next morning. I also wondered why the dryer was sounding like it was on it's last lap, panic sets in and I find the fob in the dryer none the worse for wear and fully operable. So in short My fob was washed for a 50 minute cycle and dried and still functions as designed. Think I need to buy a lottery ticket.

Well done sir!

Something similar happened to me, but it was my original 1997 key fob, left it in my short pocket about 6 months ago, put on my wetsuit, went out into the surf for about an hour. Realized when I came back in. Took it out blew it dry the best I could, set in the sun to dry for about an hour, and unlocked perfectly. Got home and cleaned with a swab and isopropyl alcohol, all good still.
