Local group heading up for a Saturday run with sat nite camping for some.

What does it look like with the fires in the area?
Access roads closed?

Anyone with knowledge and a heads up would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Yes it is closed. On the plus side they have graded part of 4402 so future trips should be smooth.

Edit: For a point of reference, the star is sourdough.

Thanks.
The image doesn't 'work' though. Could you re-post it.
This would be very useful to break the bad news to the club.

I imagine running the trail and camping at sourdough on 4th of July weekend would be insne?

Let's try it this way. I don't think the trail will be open by the 4th. It is 50% contained right now and it's a full supression fire so I think we will be good for the annual mcgrew run.

perhaps you know of the campground west from the saddle up, over and down the hill at the bridge? North Fork?
Like the campground but wondering if it's in or out of the 'zone'.
Thanks again,

....Personally me, I would avoid the area and let them work.

sounds like the group is likely to head in on Rowdy Cr. Rd from Smith River and "explore" old mining trails west of the bridge.

would there be signs or personnel at the 'no entry points' ?
continued thanks,

I don't know exactly where that is, but isn't the site posted here it lists the closures and roads?

There was a map of the closure area but I can't find it now. The closures are in place not only for public safety but for the safety of the crews working the fire as well.

It would probably be a good idea to stay clear. Temps are coming up this weekend and its supposed to be windy which makes the fire upredictable. They were saying that this fire is behaving more like something we would see in late July or august, not this early in the year.

Ha! I was thinking about saying something, I've heard about it and the stuff I looked up looks cool, I think that would be a cool trip!
