I talked to the guys in the Ottawa club last night. We'd be interested in helping organize a weekend wheeling trip near Ottawa for the May long weekend. Are you guys interested in coming up?

If I could get a rough idea of how many people/trucks would be interested in coming so we can plan a camp site that would be great.

Also who from the UCLC side would be interested in being a point of contact.

The rough plan as it is now would be to camp and wheel for the whole weekend. Our club would help with planning a base camp (either on a trail, campsite, or at a members house) as well as plan a few runs so that we can all get some wheeling in.

The runs would have to be planned based on the type of rigs coming so let us know if your interested and what type of rigs you have. IE we don't want you to lose half of your rig on the trail.

Cheers,
Stephen

Thanks for looking into this Stephen.

As of now, I can't commit for the May Long yet, sorry. We are heading out to Crag in early May which is close to you guys. So far I think we have 10 trucks which is quite a lot. But join us if you're interested.

I don't mind being a contact on this end if it's ok with everyone. I'll pm you my email & cell #.

If we could get a show of hands of people who are likely to be interested in coming that would be great. We don't want to organize something and have nobody up! (Although we'd prob just go wheeling without you :) )

Make sure that if you're doing Crag that you're running short trucks (40's/70's). I haven't run it myself but I believe that it is supposed to be almost impossible for longer trucks without significant damage. I can confirm with the folks who have run it if you guys want (and if you have longer trucks coming)?

I know generally our club doesn't do this run as we have some 60's and 80's who wouldn't be able to is my understanding.

If you can find more intel on Crag that would be great. We may have some FJC's, and pickup trucks comin. You gonna join us?

I can see if I can find someone to run it with and scout it for you. If I can't do that I can ask the local guys for sure who have run it if they feel that pick-ups/FJC's could make it. How modified are the FJC's/pickups ?

Not sure if I can join... depends on what happens for work in the next little while.

Cheers,
Stephen
