Matrix tech question

My local dealer is being less than helpful, the car is a 2005 Toyota Matrix, my MIL has managed to loose both of her keyfob remotes. The price is about 135.00 for a remote from the dealer and 85.00 for a key, so here are the questions.

1) How can I find out what the FCC frequency is for the keyfob remote on a specific car?

2) Is the keyfob remote something that a 2 bannana guy will be able to program?


I found some remotes on ebay for about 1.00 up to 30.00 that are Toyota factory remotes but they are for a specific FCC freq. Just trying to help the crazy lady out.

i work at Toyota as a tech, and let me tell you they don't call it a stealership for nothing! you can buy some off ebay but make sure they will fit your application. the factory fobs have the numbers you need on the back of them.
