Hi,
I found this forum when looking for help replacing the power antenna mast on my '99 4Runner. 2ndGenToyotaFan's step by step pictorial post was perfect to get the PITA job done! Anyways, now I need a little help diagnosing my door lock problem.

A while back both the inside lock switches (driver's and passenger's) suddenly quit working. I can lock/unlock the vehicle fine with the keyless entry fob, and the locks work automatically when turning the ignition on/off, so I'm sure it's not the locks themselves.

The Toyota parts guy said the Driver's side Master Switch on those are a problem and that would most likely be it. I just want to make sure it isn't something else I haven't thought of before I drop $350 for the part. Any other things I might check? Thanks!

I have a whole drivers master switch assembly from a 2000 4Runner I'll sell you if you need one. You will probably need to remove whatever switch you need for yours because the beige plastic is pretty sun faded on mine but the switches all work fine. PM me if you are interested.

Thanks wdorry,
I was surprised to see they are actually more than the Toyota dealer up the street from me.

Thanks toyminator. No offence, but when it comes to electrical stuff, I'm sticking to new. I could use a clean rear bumper though, but I'm guissing shipping from St. Louis would be a problem!.

Mainly, I'm just trying to make sure the master switch is the problem, not some cheaper relay somewhere. The Passenger side also quit working at the same time. The window controls work fine, but I guess you have to buy the whole $$$ assembly.
