Hi folks we have a nice scenic (easy) day run scheduled for sat 3/16/24 . Red canyon jeep trail , exiting to the historic bradshaw truck trail , then west towards the old train trestle . We will then continue westward towards the salton sea & exit to pavement . We will connect to hwy 111 along the eastern edge of the salton sea towards indio , 10 fwy & home . We will meet @ famous chiriaco summit Google Maps - https://www.google.com/maps/place/Chiriaco+Summit,+CA+92201/@33.6608528,-115.7213795,15z/data=!4m15!1m8!3m7!1s0x80da79af8e4bb497:0xd3c97e5b4c5803be!2sChiriaco+Summit,+CA+92201!3b1!8m2!3d33.6608533!4d-115.7213795!16zL20vMDhuemZ6!3m5!1s0x80da79af8e4bb497:0xd3c97e5b4c5803be!8m2!3d33.6608533!4d-115.7213795!16zL20vMDhuemZ6?entry=ttu . Meeting time @930 am , leaving for the trail @ 10 am . If you can get there early enough the coffee shop has good food ! This is about 6.5-8 hours trip , btw i would suggest you visit bombay beach , as a quick side trip on the way home . Thanks for putting this together. I’m in! If anyone is anyone planning to camp Saturday night, would you check-in with your plans on this thread? I’m trying to decide if I’ll camp or just make this a day run.

I’m not going to make this run. Duty call. From the scouting run I had marked this location for a possible camping spot for the club (33.5209442, -115.6744675). If you are planning to camp, check it out for what it’s worth.

This sounds like such an awesome run!! I'll be doing some spring skiing in UT this weekend so unfortunately won't be able to make this run
