Manufactor Date

Hey,

I have an 1986 RJ70 that I want to import to the states. I just got off the phone with the DOT and they said the 25 year rule is based on manufacture date, not model year. Does anyone know where the Manufacturing date is stamped on this thing?

My guess the tag with the production date would be on the driver's door A or B pillar. At least it is on Land Cruisers imported to the US starting in 1969. Other parts of the world may be different.

go to ToyoDIY.com and put in the vin #. it will give the date of manufacture. you might need a letter from the toyota office in the unit's country of origin to confirm said date for customs.
