I was in this situation where i fixed a simple error on AHC, but did not have a diagnostic machine to remove the existing error code.
I looked around and found a manual way to clear the code. And BOOM, it cleared the AHC error code as well as a longstanding Transmission error that has been there for over a year.
My luck Is that i already knew how to manually use the under-hood diagnostic port for many diagnosis tasks.
Clear error codes as follows:
1. Turn ignition OFF.
2. Bridge terminals Tc and E1 in the under-hood diagnostic port (use a jumper wire or paperclip).
3. Turn ignition ON (don’t start the engine).
4. Press the brake pedal 9 times within 3 seconds.
5. Turn ignition OFF.
6. Remove the jumper wire.
