I am Thinking About buying Back my 94 Pick-Up off of a Friend "Hopefully Cheap" It has a Blown Motor and the Rear End is Locked Up. I Dunked it in the Creek Last Year and I Never Repaired it, "Sucked Water" I Drove it Home and Blew it Up "Got VERY VERY Hot and I Just Floored it to Get Home. I Think the Head Gasket Popped. It Sat for awhile About a Year? Now it Appears the Rear End is Locked up. I Found a 1986 4x4 Automatic With a Nice Sounding 22re. I don't Know if it is Compatible With my 1994 5 Speed Though??

Thanks Guys

Dax

Oh yeah any Ideas on Freeing up the Rear End? Kerosene Maybe???

Odds are your seals on the rear will be shot. You soak them in K1 and they most certainly will be shot. You need to rebuild the 3rd.

What motor are you trying to mate too? 22RE?

What Would you guys Pay for the Truck? Perfect Body and Very Minor Surface Rust on Frame. I Dumped Big Money into the Motor Before I blew it Up! I Sold it to my Friend for $500.00. At That Point it Just Needed Another New Motor:frown: I will probably have to Chuck Him a few Bucks for Storing it For a year. I was Thinking about $700.00 tops What do you guys Think? He has'nt Touched It and I Drove the Truck For Ten Years Prior. Lots of Sentimental Value:crybaby: I want my Truck Back.

Yep it Needs a New 22re. I Found a Rusty 86 on McKinley Ave Yesturday with a Really Good Sounding Engine. Frame is toast Though. They are Asking $1200.00

1200.00?? Fawk that. You can rebuild it yourself or much less.

I'd offer dude 500 bucks for your old junk. And a case of beer for storin' it.

Your auto should bolt right up to the 22re...but there may be a vacuum line needed.

Me mini tech knowledge is being weened away by Cruza....Vince and Andy just rebuilt a 22r so maybe they will jump in.

I Did'nt Really Like the Engine. I Went Through Two of Them in 3 Months. They were From a Company Called Recon. They Sounded Like Shift From Day One and No Rip at All. I Think it Developed a Knock and I got Ticked off and Tried to blow it Up. I Dropped Like $6000.00 in a few Months on this Truck. so I Hammered it... I know I know Major Dumbass Attack! But I was Fed Up With it. Now I Drive by it all the Time and Miss it. I Think I Would Rather Just Find a Decent Used 22re and Go With it.

I Hate Toyota Trucks.................You Never can Figure out if You want to Preserve Them or Thrash Them..........Stressfull Situation.

LOL! Try owning a cruza...much worse. Build them unbreakable and wheel the s*** out of them.

Remember...a broke Toyota Owners best friend is a stick welder and a 4.5inch angle grinder.

Build accordingly and don't over invest.

Sounds Like Words of Wisdom! I DEFINITELY would'nt Wheel a Nice FJ40! Sunday Driver and Snowy Roads Only. Plenty of $1500.00 Beaters out there to Beat the Pissshells out of:) I am Kicking Around a Welder Right Now 220 or 110 Volt? Sounds Like you guys are Stick Welding? I can do Wire Feed But, I don't Know anything about Stick Welding? I want to Eventually "Someday" do a SAS and Fab Bumpers ETC.

We mostly wire feed weld. We have MIG and FLUX at the shop...I prefer flux 2-1 over mig.

We don't do much stick weldin'...it was more of an anology...and you can wheel the piss out of a 40 and not beat it up...just have to build it right and drive it the same.

I'm used to putting my old trekker on its side at will and driving a 40 is a learning curve.

Personally, I would not dump the money into a 22RE, they cost too much to rebuild. I would swap a used one in first...i think you called me on this?

22re+auto = too slow, if it is a dedicated crawler that is not a bad setup, but your shadow will pass you on the highway.

If you are not interested in that truck I know somebody that needs one, let me know.

My 1994 "The one I Sold my Friend" Pick-Up is a 5-Speed it is Currently Blown Up.
I Found a 1986 with a Nice 22re But it is Automatic and They want $1200.00 For it and the Body and Frame are Trashed. I would Like to Talk my Friend into Selling me Back my 94 and Finding a Good Used 22re For it. The Rear end is Also Locked up for Some Reason?? I Drove it Home and after it Sat it is Now Locked up?????? I Would Steal the v6 Rear Axle off my 4Runner For it:idea:

Oh Yeah! the 1986 22re With Automatic is at the Corner of McKinley and Fifth Ave. Asking Price $1200.00 It is at the Strip Mall. I never Miss a "For Sale" Toyota!
