SO...has anyone heard of these bad boys?

The 'Bolero' model looks pretty rad...it has some LC lines...

Welcome to Mahindra & Mahindra International Operations

I've found a few US car reports saying they will be sold in the US sometime this year.

Pretty sweet if ya ask me...4cyl turbo diesel...

I also found some Australian reviews that claim their pretty rugged...

the suv from the side look like a cross between 80 series lc and a new Montaro front is fugly tho but the diesel makes up for that

Weak,Underpowered,IFS,Drum brakes, huge plastic cladding, No thanks...An 80 will eat that for breakfast.

Wonder what mileage they get.

1000kg payload from that little thing..... I love it.
It doesn't look like something they'll bring to the us though:frown:

They are launching them this summer. The USA HQ is in Atlanta

They are essentially a tractor company so I would assume the drivetrains are very reliable. Guessing that the little knobs and trim pieces might be falling off all the time inside it though. Just a guess on my part.

Nothing on the site
found this at pickuptruck.com

("I'm really happy about this diesel," says Mr. Perez. "This is a market that nobody is going to be in for at least three of four years. We're going to be able to give small businesses a truck that can get 30 to 35 miles-per-gallon, and with a diesel engine that's durable. It's a $40,000 truck that we're going to sell in the mid-$20,000s. This is not Chinese junk.")

Pretty appealling, I bet it rides like a cruiser with that payload cap, ugh. Probably just as fast too.:)

They say spent something 85million on development to get into the US market. I haven't found anything on the specifics of what they did and would guess they won't be telling anyone.

I showed it to my wife and she said " Of course you want one, it's hideous!" It kinda looks like a cruiser mated with a late 90s ford ranger to me.

Scuderi Split Cycle Engine

how are they getting their diesel powerplant US legal when ALL the big boys cannot?

The Scuderi Split Cycle Engine.
I am a B level investor in this family owned company out of West Springfield, MA. I have been involved in it for about four years now (pateintly I might add...) The prototype is finished and set to be unveiled at the SAE world convention in Detroit in April... I have my plane tickets.:bounce:

I'm no engineer- so read the site for the specifics- but basically tests (computer models) have estimated 80% reduction in toxic emissions, 40% fuel efficeincy and more torque.

The Scuderi Group, LLC

I don't usually talk about this stuff because I'm not really the type to sell anything- I'm not selling, just waiting to see if I can retire by the end of the year... :flipoff2: draw your own conclusions.

Scuderi Group has been in negotiations specifically with Mahindra as well as the other big boys...

My 2 cents.

I've heard of them before. Interesting projects they have going
