Mac help

I downloaded some trail maps from NEA for Field and Forest.
We have MS word installed and the maps are in that format.
Can not get anything in word to open now.
Suggestions?

can you e-mail them to someone and have them save them as a PDF file. Then they can send them back to you.

So is it just the map files you can't open or has Word crashed ever since you tried to open the map files and now won't open anything else?

Word crashed! I can't open it at all.
Excel, Powerpoint and some others.
Plan on taking it in later this week and have them
look it over.

hi lane... did you try to re-install it? do you have the disks? also, you can go in and run the disk utility for kicks... applications folder >> utility >> disk utility...

macs dont crash, only MS products ON macs... damn them. why are the maps in word? i think you still have my email, send em to me, i will play around a bit.

Yes, it sounds as if your MS apps have been corrupted by the maps files somehow. You need to reinstall the MS apps again. Check the version of word on your mac and the map files. There may be a conflict.
