It syad it comes with an 80' cable with a hawse fairlead or 100' with a roller fairlead. I know what each one looks like but can someone educate me on the differences between the two (and why 20' extra for the roller)? Thanks.

It's likely a typo/oversight. If you look around their site you'll find at least one winch for which the description better differentiates the offerings with the like of:

ahh but when you live close enough to the border like i do, you can get it shipped to a US border town, drive down and bring it back with you. sometimes the border guards are nice enough to let you go without paying taxes although i'm not counting on it for a $500 item this time.

The kicker is the winch was $464 shipped about a week ago from the same place. I'm kinda upset with myself for not pulling the trigger then.

you sure? i got it for $484 on the 6th. a few hours after i bought, it went to $525 and then has dropped back down a bit.

I bought mine over the summer for $550 from winch depot. Its been a great winch too I'll add.
