LX570 Steering wheel emblem

Well mudders,

Our steering wheel emblem is quite worn out and I would like to replace it.

I bought a replacement emblem on eBay.

Anyone have instructions on how to replace it?

Does it involve removing the airbag plastic cover?

It can’t be replaced to “factory” condition.

The emblem is held on by rubber taps that will not be able to be removed. You’ll have to cut them off, and use adhesives to put the new one on. See below on what I did to mine.

Maybe a bit over cautious of me, but aren't you creating a dangerous loose projectile if the airbag ever goes off? I suspect the factory installation is designed/tested with this in mind.

You can also do a mild refresh by placing a vinyl decal over the stock emblem. I’ve purchased decals here before. Looks great and inexpensive to boot.

Sorry disregard my post above. He has emblems for a Toyota, but not a Lexus. If anybody can get their vehicle down to the owner, Rich, in So Cal then he can make one for you.
