Hey guys. I hate to start a new thread but the last one is years old. I finally spec'd out something for my 2008 LX570 since I couldn't find anything under 2000(Wald in Japan, I think) or anything here in the states. I called Doug Thorley and they used to, yes used to make a header and mid pipe for it stopped making it due to lack of demand. You can still find plenty of their new old stock headers and mid-pipes on eBay though but no cat-back exhaust. I spec'd out a real sexy option using all Vibrant performance 304 stainless steel mufflers and stainless piping. Check out pics of all the gear that just came in yesterday. If anyone is interested in more detail let me know. I should have it all installed next week sometime.

Not bolt on. I will have an exhaust shop mandrel bend the pipe and weld it all up. I'm unsure as to how it will sound exactly but have heard vibrant exhaust before and but its usually really deep. The pic above shows 2 mufflers, a resonator, a y merge collector to go from two 2.5 inch outlets(using tubing in pic) from the mufflers to a 3 inch (tubing in pic) tailpipe I will have them mount the resonator (small shiny one in the pic) where the stock resonator is at. Basically all this stuff will go in stock locations. Piping is slightly large than stock by around a 1/4 inch.

I agree with tango, if it’s AMG or Range Rover SVR -esque I’m all for it. No drone, deep and not annoying are my requirements. Looking forward to some video clips! Do you mind sharing costs?

I agree with the nice deep tone and no drone! Thata why I chose these but you never know the results until they're installed. I have attached pics of orders from summit racing and Jegs. About $410.00 for everything plus tax so just under 450.00 total.

Oh and the install costs from an exhaust shop that will do the mandrel bending is $325.00. So total when all said and done will be right around $775.00. Thats pretty good considering it will all be 304 (not 402 stainlessLike Magnaflow) stainless steel and all Mandrel bent. I'm estimating most retailers would want at least a $1000 plus if it were in production.

I started a new thread just now about the AFE GT Momentum intake in an effort to keep this thread clean. I will continue add more to the exhaust saga as I gain knowledge. Feel free to ask any other questions or make requests about the exhaust like: Video/sound clips, install video, etc.

Will do in response to posting clips. Im planning to do the intake and get a sound clip. Then add the exhaust and get a sound clip so those who are curious to see what each sounds like will have an idea.

Any update? Have to take off my exhaust for an AHC repair and was thinking about doing this too if it worked out for you.

I put in the intake and exhaust. They sound great! A little drone around 1800 RPM but that is common in a V8. Its not enough to complain about and I dont live at that RPM most times. Plus I want to hear some exhaust. If your looking for a little more growl on acceleration just put the AFE cold air intake.

Dude, where's the sound clip?
