LX 470 or Land Cruiser in Nashville

I am searching for either a LX470 or Land Cruiser in the Nashville area. My wife and I have decided to ditch my Mini Cooper for something "a little bigger". We just had our first child so are in need of something bigger. We hope to do a little off roading with the truck. We take at least one trip out to the Salt Lake City area a year and would love to do some off roading and camping while there.

We have decided on either a LX470 or Land Cruiser. There do not seem to be that many examples of either model for sale in the area. However when I do find one that I am thinking about purchasing I would really like to be able to take some one that is really knowledgable with these cars to take a look at the vehicle and see where/if it needs work.

I am also looking or a recommendation for a good mechanic for these cars. I have been using the same mechanic for the last four years and he did a great job on my old honda, but I would love to find someone that is a specialist in these trucks.

I read though a thread that discusses local mechanics in the Nashville area, but it seems that one of the recommended guys is out of business and no one ever posted contact info for the other person that was recommended.

there is one listed on CL right now for $7000, I was palnning to take a look at. The owner said the head gasket has been replaced and the axle seals are in good shape.

It looks like a nice one, but I refuse to buy white, gold, and tan cars.

Have you found anything? I'm in the same boat. I drove the lx450 in Gallatin. Guy selling it was a little shady. I'm still looking.

It is silver. I promise I will post up pictures eventually. I am a photographer for a living yet I have not managed to get any cool pictures of my car yet. Hopefully in the next several days I can get out to somewhere cool to take some pics.
