At the meeting last week, we had the annual white elephant auction, raised over 1k for the club treasury..........I spent way too much. but more important we also decided once again this year to support the Haven House here in Bonham with our donations.........our goal this year is $1700, a figure that is well within our reach, more important is the date we present this to them, and we are doing it on Dec 17th, Tentative plans are to meet at Baker TIre in your Cruiser if possible, and caravan the few blocks to the Haven House, do the presentation then go to my mom's house for a home cooked Christmas style lunch, then we can go to the river or the farm or just whatever suits you guys.......I can't stress how special this is, it is one of the highlights of my Christmas season, kind of gets me in the mood so to speak......a couple of years ago John Winstead and his kids and I spent the afternoon at the farm and at some relatives just hanging out, and it remains a very special "memory' of mine.......
My Dad used to comment on some of the best things in life are "making memories" he did this by making sure each summer we went on a vacation, even if it was to Lake Texoma and camping out for a week........... and I know how busy this season is, but try and put this date on your calender, and bring the family........
