Took the wife for a ride up to Georgetown today and found a spot for the Boil. :princess: :steer:
It's called Morgan Park.:grinpimp::grinpimp:
Has a covered shelter, 4 (bolted down) picnic tables, 2 grills, power, and a beach (sand) on the waterway.:bounce::bounce2:
It had a # for to reserve it, but I don't think the whole place is reservable, just the shelter. I'll call tomorrow and find out.
Let me know if you are interested.:D
Looks like we can keep the cost down to just food, about $10.00 a plate. I don't mind cooking, and I have all the stuff, so all you have to do is show up.:clap::cheers:

I think that weekend is free for me too, so I should be able to make it.

Boil

Dang Jamie what I would give to be able to say I have a free weekend alas I never know further than the day before if I will be working Saturday and or Sunday or both. That is the only part of my job and life that I really really don't like. I plan on attending David as you know thanks for the call. But as always Uncle may have other plans for me any weekend. I happen to love Georgetown area it is my secret favorite place on the Strand, not as congested as MB and there are some knockout fine bistro's on the river in the downtown area. I have been to the park you are planing on using but it was late and I was much more interested in the rear seater who was riding with me than the area but I seem to remember it was a nice place, or was that just her infulence. :p Don't know but I will try to make it.:)

I second the nice bistro's! We sometimes would take the boat out and ride down to Georgetown just to eat. Hope to see you there!

Well, I was sweating a little bit but all is well now! Kamri, my niece, has a birthday on the 6th but the party is gonna be on Sunday! It looks like we'll be there! Her birthday is on the Annual Low Country Boil. My nephew, Bryar, was born on the week of GSMTR! Looks like Laney will probably be born on the day of the december Uwharrie trip:) Okay, so the due date is actually Jan. 4 but I'm just saying it'll be my luck! All these birthdays around my wheeling events!!!!! What to do! We'll be there for the Boil. My brother got invited to the Monster truck show halftime event mud race in Shelby, NC at the fairgrounds but I don't think we'll make that one. It's a 4 hour drive! Oh well!

The birthday party has been changed to Sat but it should be around lunch, so we'll head to Gtown right after it. I'm guessing the boil will be in the afternoon? We'll make it as soon as we can!

I was going to get there around noon to 1, I thought we would eat around 4.

Looks like at this time(things can change rapidly) that I will be make it to Georgtown some time arround noon. Arriving in a single seat landcruiser full of insulating materal, glue, tape , cutting implements etc. Will work on installing the heat and sound proffing while we wait. J lee if you want to swap seats come on down to the boil that will take at least a week off the time frame for you, As I will still have to get the 62 seats recovered won't speed me up any, but could work for yor. :)

Do I need to bring anything?

ih8mud on the go!

Sorry you can't make it, Captain. Make sure you put Dec URE trip on your calendarr.

If everyone brings a chair and whatever you like to drink, I've got the rest.
See you there.

Hope everyone had a good time. I was going to go but when the wife said to go work on the cruiser I couldn't pass it up. Lots more metal cut out, braced up, and burned in. The carb is on the bench about to be broken down. Sooo as much as I like cruiser heads, working on a cruiser is even better.

We missed seeing everyone that couldn't make it! Hopefully we can all get together again soon. Hope to see Haligen and Capt soon! The food was great, as always and the location and weather was also perfect. It was good to see you guys! Sorry we got there so late. It was a really busy day!

Yeah good seeing you guys and finally meeting Doc!

Why thank you sir, and I too enjoyed meating you in person not just on the phone. Loved the toy car just could not keep my eyes off that crazy thing. Will post up some pic's of the boil and some of the odd and strange things that were going on. Again Thank you David for a carbohydrate starved individual you made divine potatos and corn, and the shrimp and the sausage in the boil were good too, but I almost had a vision of the divinity when I tasted the corn and potatos. All joking aside the food was wonderful and well pic's will show that it was not the usuall cruiser head get together. Later!
