Hi all.

I have a 99 cruiser. Recently, the key cracked in half and I lost the electronic guts. It is the only key that I have. What are my options?

Call Toyota, order blank key. Have key cut to match. They have a proceedure for making it work. Something like insert and remove 15 times then spin around twice on your left foot.

Is the car still starting with the key parts that are left over? If it is, then you can buy a new transponder key from the D(s)tealer for around $48 and program it to work with your car. If the key won't start the car, then you're hosed.

There is alot of info about this in the FAQ

First posting, but I also did buy a LC with just one key. Knew the need to replace ECU if key was lost so ordered to new (transponder) keys via local locksmith. Picked them up with instruction for how to program new keys. Can share if someone wants it. One page, can scan or type it down.
