i know there are some existing posts about this topic but i'm trying to specifically nail down how many bolts / bushings are required to stop the horizontal and vertical movement i have in my steering column for my '99 lx470. i have the primary parts with updated numbers from toyota identified but there is uncertainty about how many are required to resolve the issue. my mechanic has a small shop so once the column is apart he needs the parts on hand for a quick turnaround since the vehicle is obviously not moving until it's back together. any insight on this would be appreciated. below are the updated part numbers i have for bolts and bushings that seem to be the most likely / primary culprits just need to know how many and if there are others to be concerned with, thanks!
45866-60010 and 60020 – bushings
45855-60010 - bolts

Sorry don't have the final answer, but when i had some play in the wheel, i ended up just replacing the obvious ones, which were the most exposed bolts when you removed the plastic around the column. I believe there were 3 or 4 of them. The play in the wheel was immediately gone when i changed out the bushings, even though a few of the older ones actually didn't look terrible.

My primary point of this reply is to suggest ordering a few extra bushings. I ended up smashing one of the copper bushings while trying to get the bolt back in. Fortunately i ordered a few extra so it saved me. The part is cheap, so might be worth the cost to have one or two extra.
