I recently purchased a 2004 Land Cruiser and have been tearing it apart in an attempt to restore it.

I went through the FAQ and found the post about resoldering pin 60 and I'm happy to say that it appears to have been a successful operation - The climate, rear-view camera, and NAV all work now.

However, the radio still does not function, and hasn't since I bought the vehicle. It looks like the previous owner had an adapter installed to be able to plug in their ipod. I removed that as well as the wiring harness adapter that went along with it and am trying to get back to a completely stock setup in the hopes that the radio still functions.

It looks like one of the wires was cut (#1 and #2 on the labeled photo.) #2 was connected to the metal chassis that holds the radio assembly together. #1 was just left not connected to anything.

It also looks like a wire was removed from one of the connectors (#3) and was also just left not connected to anything.

I tried to go through the wiring diagram for the car but I don't think I'm smart enough to decipher it, so I'm looking for some guidance.

#3 is violet on diagrams -speed wire. Should be in the same connector that the #2 is in.

is #1 red/yellow?
and is #2 white/red or red/white?

is #1 and #2 the same wire? they don't look like it. Did he just cut it and ground it?

#2 with the ring terminal is position #16 in connector M5.
Without promising anything I think it only could be the parking brake or steering wheel control wires. (guessing red/white)
He might have just grounded the parking brake.

I'm confident that #1 and #2 are the same wire. It is red with a white stripe. Interestingly enough, none of these wires are plugged directly into the radio. From the radio wire harness it looks like there are a couple of little splicer connectors but I'm not sure why. A couple more pictures to try to show the situation.
