Hi everyone,

I'm new here so please forgive me if this isn't the right place to post this.

I'm looking for some factory rims for my barn find 75. The current rims and tires are completely shot due to sitting for 25 years. I would like to find some original rims to put tires on before I head out in order to load upon the trailer when I pick it up.

Also, I'd be game for renting some rims and tires for week just to transport this thing.

Evan

Are you flat towing, or on a trailer? I may be able to loan you some wheels and tires. They will work great for rolling around and loading on a trailer. I wouldn't want to use them to flat tow at highway speeds.

1MAC beat me to it.

I have a set of these buy or borrow. But I need to find a pair of tires for a different set of rims as the other 2 or on my trailer project. Rims are 16x8 Alcoa forged aluminum made in the USA. Tires are sowing there age but still very usable. I decided they were to nice for my trailer project.

1MAC - That would be huge / great! All I need is something to hold air to winch onto a trailer and transport back to OP. After that, I suspect this thing will be on jack stands for a year so it won't much matter aesthetically. Are you an IPA fan by chance? Minnesota has some incredible beers that are only distributed within the border, which I plan on literally filling the bed of my Tundra up before we move.

cjmoon - those are good looking rims and tires. We have those some tires on the wife's 4Runner and they seem to wear like iron.

ccasteel - I plan on towing it on a trailer. I suspect I will rent a U-Haul trailer and use a come a long to drag it into place. But you know, best laid plans and all... I don't have plan B yet.

Thanks for all your help.

Please bring anything Surly and if you can pop across the border to grab a case each of Serendipity and Belgium Red by New Glarus I will gladly repay you with cash or send prepayment with Paypal funds.

Surly and New Glarus - I am infinitely impressed!

I will do it.

I am enjoying a Surly Furious right now.

They just (I think just, maybe over the summer) opened their new brewery. They will be expanding, at least regionally, here shortly!

Yeah, Todd brews some great stuff for Onar as well as lay down some wicked heavy metal!

We aren't all put into a trance by the commercials for the huge brewery across the state.

I missed my first Darkness Day camp out in 6 years last year.

Evan, if u just need rollers holler if you haven't found anything. I can pop the rims off mine sounds like you have options. And plan on hitting surly brewery June 13th for dinner. Without rims, will be in a rental

My father in law picked up some rims and tires from 1MAC. So I'm good to go.

I can get the thing on the trailer with them.

Much thanks.

@acme66 Let me know when you want to meet up for Surly and New Glares transaction. I am having a 40th Birthday party for my girlfriend this weekend and I was hoping to surprise her with the New Glarus Serendipity as it is her favorite.

No beer. Sorry. I actually had to leave town on Sunday vs Monday as planned. The fascists in the Minnesota government don't allow beer sales on sunday. My wife is still up there and I'll see if she can bring some surly back. She's wrangling our almost 2 year old and working full time so I doubt a run to Wisconsin is realistic. She'llbe back in a week and a half. I'll see what I can do.

Took delivery of our possessions from the moving company today at our new place in overland park. I take off tomorrow for Tucson to pick up the 40. Should be back early next week.

No worries. Safe travels. I know there are a whole lot more important things going on when you are moving your family to a new state.

When you are ready to relax for an evening I have a 5 year vertical of Darkness in the cellar to share.

Oh wow, that is super generous. I'll see if I can pick up some obscure Arizona beers to bring back and share.
