Looking at tires for my tacoma . I have 285 /16 tires and will most likely stay with that size . I have been looking at the BFG km2 and the Goodyear mt/r . Any thoughts on these tires ? Anyone using them now or have used them ? Just looking for some opinions on them . My truck is a trail rig and errand runner not so much a daily driver any more .

Just google bfg km2's. Tons of info out on the web about them. They're the tore I'm going to when I need new ones

if you aren't DD'ing it then i would probably go km2. I have a set on our Ford farm truck and they seem to be holding up good. One of them has had a nail in one of the tread blocks for over a month, still holding air (I need to pull it out and plug it this weekend) I know lots of folks running them and they all seem to love them. Also, if you look at a lot of the crawler guys, they all seem to be running them in standard or red label form. I am actually planning to put a set on my wife's samurai at some point in the future (I have one, just need the other 3 and a set of wheels)

Of your two options that would be my vote.

I run the Toyo Open Country ATII's , great all-around tire and they bite offroad much better than expected but won't kill you in the rain or ice/snow conditions on the highway like the MT's . Tough tire , but pretty expensive . If I ever need a new set , been looking at all the Coopers and they get great reviews .

I have the BFG km2 in that size on my Tacoma. Going on my 3rd set if that tells you how much I like them. I also run BFG 33's on my 60.

@Haggis how many miles are you averaging per set?

I would say around 55,000 mi

The set I had on my 62 DD got louder and louder as they wore. Great off road traction, fair highway handling. I'm looking at the cooper st maxx for my next set.
