I am looking for an off road trailer to pull behind the 80. A military m416, m101cdn, or something I can pull with the roof top tent on it into the great beyond.
If anyone knows of one available or has any advice or suggestions, please let me know.
Chris,
What is the specific purpose of this trailer?
Are you going to wheel with it or is it mostly for hauling camping gear and firewood?
Keep in mind that I own a CDN M101...
Purely on function and not cost:
#1 The adventure Trailers Horizon (best suspension on market, independent trailing arm airbag)
#2 The Outlander trailer (excellent utilitaian set up, torsion suspension is optional $)
#3 The Adventure Trailers Chaser (optional airbag suspension)
#4 The M101/M416 (leaf springs baby!, also military reliability)
Most cost effective is a tie for #1 between the M101/416 and the Outlander Trailer($3000+).
By the time you modify your M101 you are within about $500 to the cost of an Outlander.
Then the Chaser ($4000+)and finally the Adventure Trailer Horizon.($7000+)
I want to put my RTT on it and use it as a base camp for wheeling at Gilmer, Hot Springs, Clayton, etc. as well as wheel with it behind me on Expedition type trips.....
I really can't wheel BMRA with a roof top tent on. I would tear the crap out of it and/or the cover like I did on some of the overgrown spots on k-trail.
Leading my list right now is an m416/101 or the Outlander trailers. Just seeing what I can get for what cost and take the best deal.
I just updated the earlier post with $$ info I collected.

You are welcome to come check out my M101 anytime or let me know ahead of time and I can drag it out to the meeting. Come to think of it we should have a bring your trailer to the meeting, meeting in the future.
