Looking for a type 6 motor vehicle inspection station familiar with TLCs

Hi Everyone,

I am relocating from Calgary to the Niagara region this fall and will be bringing my Canadian HJ60 with me. I am looking for a shop to get my out-of-province inspection completed that is familiar with land cruisers. Does anyone have any shops in mind? or any advice on the process?

sorry, can't help with a TLC familiar shop. just a query, is an out of province inspection any different than a normal safety? if not, would not a competent shop be able to look after you? may be try reaching out to @FJACS as he's down in that area n might be able to point you towards a reputable establishment.

@kirvesmies thanks for the help. I just did a bit more digging, and it looks like I need to find a type 2 inspection station, not type 6. Type 6 is for salvage vehicles. It seems that the truck just has to pass the safety inspection.

@Ursus Arctos , that's what i thought. so like i suggested, reach out to fjacs. if he can't help you, get ahold of me as i've got a couple of gear head buds down that way. i don't think they're on mud even though they're into 'yotas. good luck man

Regarding out of province I thought it was just a regular provincial safety.....which shouldn't be a big issue as the standards would most likely be the same in Alberta.

I don't know of any specific shops but I have seen that a few landcruiser guys have popped into this place..... www.cyriousgarageworks.com

If you go on their instagram they have some amazing AE86s and a bunch of 60 series stuff
