First, been reading up a lot. Thanks for all the insights. I am looking at a 2001, with 66K miles. Doesnt have running boards or roof rails. No nav but in good condition for decent price. I dont like the factory running boards and may look to the slee sliders. But what does everyone think about a rack. I have thule stuff on my wifes volvo. Would you buy factory rails or just use the feet with cross bars. Also saw some of the expedition type baskets that are really nice but close to $1K. That might be a stretch. Would rather save that for suspension, front bumper etc. Also I would like to get new floor mats for it.

Any thoughts on the above are appreciated and I hope to see you all out there. I used to live in CO and now kick myself that I never had an LC to use out there.

Thanks
Eric

You might be able to find a rack from someone on this board. The 2001 is the first year with the child seat locks in rear seats (if that's important). If it's a good deal you should pick it up. Where in Mass are you?

Really depends on your usage. Light usage, just find a used factory rack. If you are looking for an inexpensive expedition type rack and you are willing to do some work, consider buying the AO Loadbars from Slee and then do a J-Moose homegrown rack. There might be a way to use the AO Loadbar with your existing Thule accessories too. Christo?

New floormats? OEM Toyota carpet mats or Husky Liners?

Going to finalize deal tomorrow

Thanks for the replys. Drinkin I am in Merrimack Valley, probably not that far from you. Id love to go for a run after I have the truck. I read the moose rack, pretty cool. Doesnt look that it would be all that loud at speed either. I might just get the bars for now as I can lash stuff on there or put my thule box on it. I checked the husky liners, look a lot like the weathertech stuff. I am going tomorrow for one last look and to finalize the deal. Everything works, drives well, newish michelins(not sure what model) and a scrape on front and rear bumper and a stain in carpet in cargo area-under third row seat. Otherwise in clean overall shape. It does not have NAV but i figure I will get a garmin 2610 or something similar. I looked at some 03's but the difference in price was too much to justify for a very similar vehicle. I will see how it goes tomorrow. As long as I dont find anything wrong with it that i didnt notice its a done deal.
Any last advice?
Thanks again
Eric

I'm sure you read the FAQ already, right? I would also check for cracks in the exhaust manifold since it is a big ticket item. The most obvious symtom is a "ticking" sound upon cold start-up and the sound often goes away after a minute or so... after they warm up.

I pick it up on Monday!!

I guess it will be a mothers day gift to me! Now I'll have to get the wife something...Ill post some pictures up when i get it and when i do some work to it. First thing is to change all the fluids to synthetics. I also ordered the air filters. Still looking for some mats. The catchalls are nice but pricey. I may just go to Whiteymart and check out the cheapies.

Thanks
Eric

I would go with the Husky liners - I have had them in 7 vehicles so far and it's always the first mod done (does that count as a mod?).

Congrats!!!! BTW - I am right next to Nashua.
