Hey guys,

I don't wander over here often. I am generally in the 80, 100, or 200 section as I currently have at least 1 of each of those. I am looking at a GX for my active but retired parents. I know all the 4.7 issues, but was wondering what there is specific to the GX to look for aside from the the normal LC100 series stuff mechanically. Any particularly troublesome areas? TIA.

the only real bug is the AHC -rear air suspension. other than that they are solid rigs. there is the very common issue of the cracked/splitting dash, but lexus is rolling out a service campaign to fix them, and slowly but surely they will all be getting fixed for free by a dealer. um i guess if the Tcase/center diff lock has not been used much it can stick and that can be a costly repair, but that can be easily noticed when you go to look at one before purchase, put it into 4low and and back into 4hi/awd, and engage the center diff lock, and see if it engages, the light will blink until it engages and then be solid, same for disengaging, if it continues to blink and does not go out after a little light/gentle driving and maybe a stop and back up, you might have an issue and id look elsewhere for another one. overall i have not seen very many people have any issues with them. i love ours and would not replace it with anything other than maybe a 200
