OK, as I am relatively new to the TLC world, I read many posts in different forums almost daily in an attempt to school myself so I don't sound like such a moron when asking questions. That being said I'm going to ask a Stupid question. I've seen many referances to "lockers" in various threads. Are you talking about the Diff. lock button on the dash? BTW I have 92 FJ80. I haven't figured out how to list my info in my profile yet, but haven't realyy looked into it yet.

The lockers that most talk about are the front and rear diff locks on 93-97 models. It is a rotary switch to the left of the dash. Yours will not have it.

To add vehicle info, click "edit signature" in UserCP and add the info there.

Your 92 does not have front/rear locking differentials. It has a center diff lock which is different.

Explanations are long, but if you use the search function and limit your search to the 80 series board, you will find lots of info concerning locking diffs.

You can get lockers for your 92, you will just need to go aftermarket with ARB, Detroit, EZLocker etc.

Your "center differential" lock locks your transfer, which means that both driveshafts get the same amount of power. With out it, power will take the path of least resistance(when climbing, your front tires) and your climbing ability will suffer, as the power will go to the front where little weight is distributed.
