Also, this is a Yanmar 6LPA timing cover… Not an FT or FTE… They are painted gray from the factory. I didn’t just do a bad job.

I’m probably going to start a thread on FTE mechanical conversion somewhere along the way…. I am starting to sort out the differences between FT, FTE, and 6LPA timing cases, gears, and injection pumps…

Inlet and outlet back on. With fresh water outlet gasket and two new nuts because I lost the old nuts.

I hate it when I lose my nuts.

Got some space cleared. Spoke to Mick in Australia about the plug and play loom he’s going to be building and it seems like the pieces are all really coming together quickly.

It’s nice to feel some momentum after so much downtime.

Woo boy, looking tidy.

Well kids, don’t take a three year break in the middle of a big project. Especially when you’re as disorganized as I am. I’ve got Bill @bkcruiser here for the next couple of weeks and he’s going to help me knock out breaking fuel lines… But trying to find the parts to put the master and booster back together was painful.

You got this !!

looking forward to the first start up/bucket-for-a-seat run and yard drive!

We need to do a monthly shop organization/intervention where we visit each other's shops to come up with an organization plan and maybe do some cleaning to kick things off.

Wish I lived closer to you guys. I love Michigan, but you sure have a massive support group going.

Dave we'd all just show up with beer and watch Gman sift through his parts boxes

Sorting out parts is no fun at all.

Through a series of misadventures, I ended up having to pull all the parts for an lc70 and two 105s. All mixed up. The guys spent a day or so trying to begin to sort it out. No fun whatsoever

Kelly, that’s exactly what I did yesterday! @87freerunner got his OM606 mounted into his FJ62, which he’s been doing at my place, and I looked through bins of parts until I found 3F clutch slave cylinder to bellhousing bolts! I knew I had them somewhere!

Hey Joe,... well thereby hangs a tail. (I just looked it up and it turns out Billy S used that phrase in 4 plays.)

It is all my own fault. I picked a new garage without a track record because I knew the young man from Missus White the 105 currently in Vancouver. Before I knew it I had 3 projects in the garage, two 105's and an LC70 that had been in a rollover. The owner got in over his head and when I returned to Dubai after the holidays in the US I found that all three projects had languished. I gave the guy more time and a little more funding in the hopes that things would improve but that did not happen. So with the help of some friends we hired a 3 ton truck and three flatbeds and did the loadout ourselves a couple of Saturdays ago.

Me and three guys from my favorite garage that is helping me pick up the pieces from this misadventure.

This is me after the first day:

The next day the owner of PowerTec, the garage that, again, is helping picking up the pieces, and I went to the hastily rented storage place and started the consolidation process.

All this is going on during Ramadan with reduced work hours, and one of the guys is fasting during the day. Very hard.

And then the recent unpleasantness in the Gulf started. I'd delayed my travel back to Florida a couple of times trying to sort out this mess, and then the airlines started cancelling flights generally. I kept busy on other work and eventually I was able to get on an indirect flight back to the US. AFTER I left the guys have been continuing to organize and try to sort out what we have and what we are missing. So yes, in answer to your question I have had help. And I'm grateful for it. But I've tried to do my part as well.
