Bill already has the magic sled. 😁

Some actual progress today. Cleaned out the lift bay and maneuvered the single cab into place.

I used every implement I had, including kei truck and Toyota forklift…

Time to prep the FTE. I’m now on at least the fourth motor for this truck…and the third FTE. This one came courtesy of @joekatana… it’s a late model FTE from a Euro spec 100. It has EGR, viscous heater, VNT turbo, and intake swirl flaps. At this point, it’s been six years… I’m not going to strip it down and paint it… We’re just gonna get rolling here.

Joe also found me a complete FT manifold… So tonight I stripped off the turbo, wire wheeled it and painted it with VHT high temp header paint. The exhaust rings were completely fused in and I had to grind them out. Super painful.

Note the super fancy paint booth, and NOS h151 getting ready in the background.

Decent amount of progress today. Hoping that I can bolt up the manifold and Munro full billet turbo tomorrow.

Me too, Tucker. Me too.

No one’s ever going to believe this, but I’m actually cleaning the shop up this morning. Check out another treasure from @joekatana

New old stock 70 series dash pad… With the inclinometer cut out!

Sweet! Looking forward to the progress!

Cheers, James

Lots of progress today.

There are some interesting variations in the FTE’s… All three that I currently have in my hands are late Euro spec, and one with EGR cooler. All three have the water lines for the viscous heater.

I deleted the weird doubled water bypass pipe for a standard single bypass.

The big fat right sided motor mount for the HDJ100 has to be switched out for a 1HZ/DT/FT. The left sided mount is the same across all the models I believe.

Part number dump:

I used all new exhaust manifold studs, hardware, and gaskets. I replaced the turbo oil line because I used one I had from another FT turbo was a little bit bent. I used a new oil union (don’t forget the crush washers!).

I used @Workhorse ’s BEEFY EGR delete plate with an OEM gasket. Thank you, friend.

Nate was ready for a nap but it was time to mount the whole thing up.

Stoked to use a 3D printed stainless dump pipe from Clark Fabrication. I found him on the Facebook.

Finally I plopped on a Yanmar 6LPA valve cover. Enough for today.

I got lucky and found several a few months ago , Galen has the last one of that batch besides one that I left in Europe for my personal stash .
Wish I was in the loop on that one!🤣

I like the dump pipe. I will try to look them up.

My exhaust system on my 79 is like trying to drink a bourbon and coke after a long ass work day through that tiny stirring straw!🤣
