What is a used Lincoln SP-125 welder worth; without regulator and tank, original owner, few years old, good shape?

Wrong forum....I would look at eBay to get a good idea, but my guess would be $250?

a quick google search showed a Welding supply house had them at close out for $350 and sold out....a guy in Denver had one on CL for $250 I think....

I might be interested in it. Let me know what you decide you want for it. Can it weld 1/4 or no? I am thinking only up to 3/16.

Tim

I should have clarified. I will be building a bumper for my FJ60 and looking at a Lincoln sp125 and trying to figure out what a used one is worth. Thanks

I think it would be worth about $150. Will you be able to hook up gas without a gas kit? If not, I wouldn't want it. Also, what thickness are you planning on welding? 1/8" or thinner and you'll be okay with this 110 volt welder. Might be able to get by 3/16" with flux core.

I am feeling that out. I am fabricating a bumper to mount an 8274.

I personally would not try to weld a mount to hold/secure a 8274 with a 110 volt welder. I would look at buying a 230 volt welder for the thickness of metal you'll need to weld. What is your budget for a welder?

Couple hundred bucks. From what I understand the ARB is 3/16 at best bolted to the frame. 130 amps(rated @ 3/16) should be OK, going slow with flux core (the frame itself is 1/4). In the best of all possible worlds I would get a 230 unit/210amps etc - but that will be a while...;)

To your point though, if need be I will weld 98% of the bumper with the 130 and the other structual beads with an arc etc.

3/16" with flux core is doable. Be sure to bevel the edges and practice so you get a good feel for your welder.

Welding the structural stuff with the stick welder is a good plan.

Will do on the beveling. I am planning on practicing for a good two weeks! Anything structural I will save for an arc etc...Thanks again for your comments.

if you can get it real cheap

get it. i have lincoln powermig 180c but sometimes for portability or windy situations would have liked a flux core machine. besides if you get a good deal on it you can always sell it again without getting beat up too badly

I would say 150-175 would be a fair price. I saw one new that was being cleared out of Lowes the other day for 250... with the reg and gas kit.
