Hi, Has anyone had experience with the Sonoran Steel LLC, lift kits? I am considering their system 1.2 for my 97 4runner. How do they ride, are they tipsy? etc.

thanks,

Steve's kits are very well designed and have been used and proven on his own rigs. My front set up is similar to what he sells, and everyone who has bought one and commented are very happy with them.

As for tipsy, any time you lift, I guess it could feel tipsy. But I think you'll notice that it actually feels more solid with any improvement in the suspension over the worn out stock set up.

If I had a 4runner and was looking for a complete system, either Steve's or Jacque's (trdparts4u) would be the system I would choose. Can't go wrong.

I have the Sonoran Steel 1.2 kit in addition to a 1.5 body lift (and trimming) to fit my 315s. In my opinion it is a well designed kit and it rides great both on and off-road. Just make sure you read and understand the details on Steve's site. The 1.2 was designed to be run on a vehicle with the additional weight of aftermarket armor and the stance will have a rake to it. If you don't like the "aussie look" and want a more level stance or want less lift than what it offers then check out the 7.2 kit.

FYI...My 4Runner is the one pictured on the Sonoran Steel 4Runner lift page under the heading "System 1.2 with 315/75/16 Goodyear MT/R Tires".

I have the 7.2 on my 4Runner and it is awesome. You can check on the differences between the 1.2 & 7.2, but they aren't significant and I have less body roll than I did stock. Very complete system as well.

I had the 1.1 on my old 4Runner... ride quality was much better than stock and the rear flexed like crazy. Awesome setup for an IFS. Install was fairly easy and parts were top notch... if I ever get another 4Runner, that will be my first choice of lifts... plus Steve is a great guy to deal with.

I believe the only difference between the 1.1 and 1.2 is the shocks... 1.2 uses better shocks (or so I'm told).
