We had a cool run and no dust as we traveled through the NV and CA portions of the Mojave desert last saturday Feb 27th. The run, starting in Searchlight NV, ended up just SW of Nipton CA.

This run, lead by Steve and Vicky, covered over 38 miles in the dirt and explored some of the roads in that territory that none of us had covered before AFAIK. Michael V served once again as tail gunner. However Michael fearlessly drove right through a section of road that had been washed out blazing a trail for the rest of us to follow.

We had 7 vehicles including soon to be member Scott M's Brand new 2010 tacoma TRD OR 4x4. (it still had paper plates and everything) Scott a relatively inexperianced wheeler handled the terrain like a champ and only got stuck once. he was able to get Un Stuck with only a bit of direction from myself and some of the more experianced landcruisers. We didnt even have to stack rocks or nothing. WTG s Scott.

Members who participated in this run and their vehicles were:

Syzzlin Steve and Vicky Syzdek in their ultra hip FJ60
Timmer and Sandee in our 08 TRD OR Tacoma
Greg Sala and wheeling buddy Jon in Greg's Gold 4 runner
Jim, his wife and great grandson (?) in their cool FJC
Icon Michael V in his TLC Icon FJ40

Non member participants were:

Scott M. in his brand spankin new 2010 TRD OR Tacoma
Jeepin Jenna in her Lifted and Locked Jeep Rubicon :steer:

thanks again to all those who participated esp Steve and Michael for their service as trail leader and tail gunner.

not brand new anymore!!!

going through the bushes was rough for the first time, knowing all the scratches i was getting and that my truck would never be the same, but when the big rocks came and i was straddling the deep washouts, i started having fun using my truck for what its for, and stopped worrying about the scratches. now i cant wait to take another ride again!

is that what its like ladies?? haha hope that doesn't offend anyone

see you guys at the meeting
