Have read good stuff about siping tires so I wanted to do it do a set that I am about to get.

I am getting the tires from Radial Tire in MD but they don't sipe and they don't know anyone who does.

Anyone know of a place locally that sipes tires?

Might be a bit cheaper to get tires that are already 'siped'. I'm fairly sure that anything you do (siping?) after purchase to modify the tire will void any warranty that does exist.

Curious what tires you are buying from Radial that are not siped already? They did a great job balancing the 36" IROKs I brought them and did not give me any grief about my 8 inch wheels either. For a hole in the wall shop they do the business! Cahil is right about voiding any warranty on the tires if you sipe them.

To answer your question I don't know of any business that sipes tires around here. You can do it yourself with a box cutter if you have the time and patience.

Tires are Toyo Open Country MTs and from some reading it seems others have had good experiences siping the center lugs further than what is already done by Toyo.

Granted the poster with the most experience lives in Colorado and gets more snow than we could dream about. Seems like you guys think it's not necessary so I won't sweat it, especially in our area which gets limited amount of snow.

Yes, I have not been to Radial Tire but have been on the phone with them 2 times and they were very helpful. Their prices are very competitive so I look forward to having them mount my new tires.

Only sipe if you plan to run in snow in my opinion, not worth it otherwise if you have any warantee. Also only helps on thick lugged tires like mud terrains.. Hope it helps! (found this thread randomly through a search). Cheers, Andre
