Well we now have alot going on toward the extreme type motorcycle race that I mentioned two meetings ago.
This will be the third race of its kind put on at The Red River Motorcycle Trails.
Known as The Lastman Standing.
It will consist of a Qualifier format race on Friday morning, starting around 9:00 AM and into the afternoon.
The plans are to allow up to 300 riders all of expert capabilities to go out onto the qualifier track two times and try for the best time that they can.
After that the top 100 riders will be allowed to proceed onto the Satuday event. More about that below.
Now the layout, this year we will be making it more spectator friendly, the majority of the qualifier will be within hiking / walking distance. And there will also be some type of tram there to move people around as well. The spectators will be allowed to walk along the course to go view the different elements of the qualifier trail.
There will also be a vendor and concession area availiable so people can go Ohh and Aww at all the gadgets and whatnots availiable in the motorcycle industry. Heck some are even good for 4x4ing.
The pits will be open for all to walk through and see the riders.
Saturday's main race will be groups of 25 starting at minute intervals, on a bomb type start and heading off into the woods to pick up the race trail.
They will go around the park on two daytime loops. The trail will get progressively harder. And there will be spector points of interest at the extreme elements for all to go and watch the riders attempt to make it up or down. And the only help they can get is from other riders.
At the end of each loop the riders will return on parts of the Qualifier and back to the pits to fuel and repair (bike and body). And then off again. After the second loop the top riders will be allowed to go onto the 3rd and 4th loops in the dark. (so bring some flashlights for walking).
And in the end the plan is to have hopefully one finisher maybe a couple and some posibility of no finishers.
Go http://www.redbulllastmanstanding.com/ for more information.
There will be no spectaors allowed to bring motorcycles or four-wheeler or 4x4's (sorry) to use for transportation on the property.
Yes most likely it'll be cold hopefully not snowing or raining but the race will go on under any condition.
Post your comments I'll check them and respond a couple of times a week.
And if you’re interested in helping let me know and I'll let you know what the requirements are to help out.
Thanks Brian
Also let all the other groups know about this posting, so they can see if it's of interest to them.
