So you know how it's kind of a pain to get all of that old grease out of a birf when doing a rebuild? Well it turns out if you neglect those inner axle seals long enough and then run the AZ Peace Trail they come out squeaky clean!
Or... my truck threw up its front axle parts in Tim's driveway and I still need to put it together. But yeah, my axle was way overdue for some work - leaking, wheel bearings shot, pads worn.... at least it will be ready for more abuse when I'm done but I will have to miss this one.

Sounds like fun but did an impulsive run with Ted today to Oriflamme Canyon with a side trip up Mason Valley Truck trail... And yes, the gates are locked both at Hwy 79 & Mason Valley Truck Trail as well as a mile away inside the park. First time I've gone DOWN the Oriflamme Canyon trail, and the last time I went up it was in the mid-80's... Ted kept suggesting we go UP the trail from S2... but no, I thought going down from Banner would be better. It's much scarier going down, and my sphincter is still a little puckered... We saw two well configured Jeeps travelling with a bone stock Range Rover Discovery, that also went DOWN the trail behind us; I reckon the Discovery has some new under-carriage battle scars. Sure am glad we didn't encounter any upbound traffic during our descent!
