Gold Mtn Snow Run - Now with pics

If anyone wants to meet up with my buddy and I , we are heading up to run Gold Mtn. up in Big Bear in the snow (3N69). This is not confirmed yet of course because we do not know the current conditions of the trail. If it's too narly, we'll just go run some fire roads. Neither of us have chains.. so if we get turned around by the CHP, we'll probably head up the backway through Silverwood lake area and Arrowhead. Kind of playing it by year right now.

Anyhoo, meeting at Mcdonalds off the 91 fwy and Serfas Club /Auto Center Drive @ 9am in Corona SHARP.

If you wanna go, you're more than welcome to join us. Call me on my cell if you're gonna be late and i'll hang tight for ya.

SIDE NOTE: the public service person from the Ranger station up there never called me back regarding the trail closure.

Well Smitty and a few other people that aren't on this board had a great time today. We attempted to run Gold Mtn Trail but we got up to the 2nd rock garden section and the full size 'unlocked' trucks were going to have major problems. Being that they were huge and it would be hard to get them out, we decided to run back down and over to Holcomb valley. here are the pics..

Big Bear Lake was frozen over.

Not too much snow on the south side of Gold Mtn. Especially since we showed up almost 4 days after the snow fall and every yahoo has already been through it:(

Smit took the ledge section.. probably would have made it better with 35's..
You need to see these pics from the other rear view of the trucks to notice the ledge.
