Hi!

This is my first post here on the forum so please bear with me.

I am a happy owner of a TLC Prado KZJ71 SWB.

The stock size is 265/70 R 15. I am interested in a set of 32X11.5R15s MTs..

The question is.. will they fit on a stock suspension? i know 31X10.5s fit without any problems?

If not, what do I need to do to install those tires? suspesion lift etc?

Please do help me out!!

Thanks

GT

The 32' will fit with no problem , but when turning they might contact with the chasis. Easy test, make full turn on wheels ( left or right...) and measure from now's wheels +1 inch in diameter and you will see if they contact on turns...

With 33' Jungle trackers, the tires contact also with the body then the suspension is compressed !

Do the test and you will know for sure!

PS: For the lager tires you will need : (option 1:) body mods for the tires not to contact when suspension is compressed , (option 2): suspension lift... But still think on what do you really need the bigger tires for?

Thank you for replying..

I suppose the height will not be an issue. But what about the width?

I will do the test in the near future.. But has anyone personally used that size or better? I am looking for possible issues as compared to running stock size..

I need larger tires for better ground clearance basically.. and also better traction as a bonus..

You might need some offset rims...
But the height is an issue cause the radius is bigger and due to the turning pivot it might get touching the chasis... test it... If they touch.. offset rims or spacers...

Hey there , i know its an old post i hope you can answer , just got the same vehicle as the other guy and had the same question but what about the re gearing? What gearing would you advise?

The KZJ7x trucks came with 4.30 gears. You can run 31x10.50 with no lift and no regear just fine. Moving up to 33’s can really depend on the specific tire and the desired width, 10.50 or 12.50. Manufacturers can easily vary up to at inch in diameter in the some tire size.

For generalization purposes, 33x10.50 can be run on the stock wheels with a 2” lift. 33x12.50 will also fit with a 2” lift but would require 8” wide wheels as the majority of tire service stations will not fit a 12.50 width tire to a 7” wide wheel.

Gearing can also vary by individual use, location, and vehicle setup. If you live at sea level, never drive to the mountains, don’t carry heavy loads/tow, or don’t need the extra gearing for “off roading,” and are still satisfied with the truck’s performance then there isn’t much of a need to regear. If you do any of those other things, regearing should be considered.

Options are to change the diffs to 4:88s or change the transfer case gears to 10% under drive.
