Thanks! I was surprised they bred early this year. It was 29 degrees this morning and the two day old lambs weren’t even phased. One male, one female. I’ve got three banded from the first of the year but they are small compared to the rest of the flock. The one red I left intact is full size. Does banding them stump their growth? Was looking to harvest them but they are so small comparatively.I saw a field full of fall lambs last week, and involuntarily said "damn, that sucks."
My wife asked me why and I mentioned what a PITA fall lambs are, but she relied, "we live in the South now."
I just can't get my mind around the fact that fall lambs actually can survive winters here, and don't require constant attention like upper Midwest lambs, due to the horrific winters growing up there.
Nice to see your fuzzies doing well.
