Anyone have experience or feedback from others on these? 2nd highest rated on-off road A/T tires (behind KO2s) in tirerack.com I am looking at road noise / manners feedback (but any feedback is good feedback).

$130 / tire and 55k warranty (and 30 day trial / return policy). Basically half the price of the Michelin I was leaning towards.

Anyone?

Just bought some AT51s (285/75R16) because of good reviews and price. I ordered them on-line from Tirebuyer for $610 shipped for the set and had them delivered to the local Firestone dealer to install at a quoted price of $78, and upgraded $22 for lifetime rotation and balance. And FYI, I am coming from Dueler AT REVO2s in same size that I was very happy with-- lasted 70K miles, low noise, and good snow, wet and gravel performance.

Now that I have ~2000 mi on the At51s, I am already regretting it due to their droning noise. They're not real loud per se, but have a this low, buzzy hum at almost any speed that is really annoying, kind of like a bad, white-noise soundtrack. I guess I should have listened to one of the tire shops I visited in Boise told me that they were loud and recommended I go with Hankook Dynapro AT-M. The dealer said he put some AT51s on his dad's F150, and they swapped them for the Hankooks the next day because of noise. Most reviews say their are pretty quiet. Maybe I'm just sensitive to their frequency" Oh, and I'm now also experiencing extra noise in the form of 1-2 Hz harmonic at greater than 60 mph. I'm going to have them rebalanced and see what happens. Could also be my spindles or bearing (or?) as I was getting some Birfield vibration due to lack of grease in the knuckles.

Great info, thanks. Road noise is near the top of the list for me on tire quality. I guess for $130/each, you can't have everything.

I'd love to find a All season tire with the severe snow rating. A/T are easy finds, but the A/S w/snow is tough.

If you want something that's good in the snow, plus quiet, look at the Goodyear Duratrac. I have them on the wife's 80 series for over 2 years now. Performance in rain and snow is the best of any tire I have used in the last 15 + years. They are also very quiet, on par with the BFG KO. On that note the BFG KO2 should also be on your radar for a good all year AT tire.

Or, if you decide to throw caution to the wind, and want something that completely beats a$$ off road, looks super aggressive, and adds a few extra decibels to your morning commute Kuhmo Road Venture MT review well come and join the club.
