I'm thinking about trying to travel this trail with a small convoy of Cruisers this spring on our way to Cruise Moab, but I'm trying to figure out whether or not this is a wise idea.

#1.- What is the minimum level of equippage required? Can stock FJCs and Land Cruisers get through it without the benefit of lift, sliders, lockers, or winches?

#2.- How many days does the trail take to travel? It appears to me, based on the map linked below, that the trail can be entered and exited at a few places along the route, which would facilitate trimming the trail to suit the group's time constraints; is this a correct understanding?

yes, you can jump in and out of the trail system and skip some areas easy enough...

a pair of good drivers could 'whip thru' the trail in a long day with a couple capable rigs....but the point of the trail isn't speed but enjoying the scenery...

Sliders are a must...especially for Rose Garden....and unless you've got a lot of rock stacking time, you should expect some bumper damage as well. You can do it without lockers, but your gonna have to do some creative bumping....and that tends to lead to more breakage or damage. We took a stock FJ with sliders and skid plates thru in 2007, no problem.

I'll take more time on my next run thru there to enjoy it more...spend a nite on the Top of the World, more time at some of the canyons, hit some of the side roads, etc.

What Woody said. I hope to be one of the capable rigs with woody enjoying the stars so to speak.
